# Issue #1 — The 80/20 Bot Operator pattern

**The AI Founder's Brief** · Ultimate Foresight, Inc.
Weekly plays for businesses you can actually run

## This week in one line

Let AI do the drafting and sorting. Keep a human on money, identity, and trust — or the “automated business” becomes an automated mess.

## The pattern

Call it the **80/20 Bot Operator** model. About 80% of the grind can be drafted by AI: research summaries, listing copy, email drafts, support replies, design variants, and checklists. The remaining 20% of decisions must stay human: bank and payouts, refunds, account creation, final spend approval, tax identity, and “prove you are human” walls.

Founders get hurt when they reverse that ratio — they babysit drafts and autopilot money.

| Task | Label | Why |
| ------------------------------- | --------------------- | ------------------------------- |
| Draft shirt titles and tags | A / AH | Review in batches |
| Generate templated design files | A | Deterministic after brand rules |
| Publish to marketplace | AH | Public and policy risk |
| Connect bank or payouts | H | Money and identity |
| Issue refunds | H | Money and customer trust |
| Draft weekly Brief | AH | Voice and facts need a pass |
| Charge subscribers | H setup / A recurring | Human setup, system collection |
| Captcha or 2FA | H | Platforms block bots here |

If a task can spend money or create legal exposure, relabel it as human-owned.

## What “human gate” mea

## Caution: Fake brand layers and overclaiming autonomy

Do not invent a cute shop name, a second persona, and a third “AI CEO” identity unless there is a deliberate legal or brand reason. Extra names create confusion in banking, marketplaces, and customer trust. The same is true of marketing that says the business runs itself. It is enough — and more credible — to say: **AI-assisted production, human-owned money.**

## Metric: Time-to-first-draft

Before buying another tool, ask: **Can the system produce a sellable asset in one focused day?** Examples include a publishable Brief issue, a marketplace-ready listing pack, or a client-ready outreach batch. If the answer is no, simplify the workflow. More software will not fix a fuzzy loop.

## 7-day operator checklist

**Day 1:** Write the niche and offer in two sentences.
**Day 2:** Build the five-step workflow page.
**Day 3:** Label tasks A / H / AH.
**Day 4:** Produce one full draft asset.
**Day 5:** Human-gate review; fix brand, byline, and identity.
**Day 6:** Deliver or publish in the smallest public way.
**Day 7:** Record one metric and one process change.

## Closing

Automation is not the absence of humans. It is the discipline to put humans only where judgment and liability live — and to let machines eat the rest.

\*Operator notes, not financial advice.\*ns in practice
A gate is not “read everything.” Before an irreversible action, check the charge, the public claim, the real company identity, the platform rule, and whether the action can be undone cheaply. If the last answer is no, the gate gets slower on purpose.

## Stack note: Build during account waits

Real operations include dead time: bank verification, marketplace review, captcha walls, and DNS tickets. Amateurs pause the whole company. Operators use the wait. While a payment account is verifying, finish product drafts offline, write two Brief issues ahead, tighten brand rules and bylines, and build a simple metric dashboard.

The wait is not blocked work. It is blocked *publishing*. Drafting can continue.

## Build play: Label every recurring task

Make a plain list of what your venture does every week. Mark each task as one of three types:

• **A — Automate:** safe to run with little review once the template is proven.
• **H — Human only:** money, identity, legal authority, or irreversible sends.
• **AH — AI drafts, human sends:** the default for public-facing work.
